A sunny day at Cheyenne Shadows Golf Club in Colorado Springs, Colo., on July 14th, 2022, created a stunning backdrop for the 7th Annual IVY Pro-Am Tournament. In conjunction with the Warrior Transition Battalion and active duty soldiers at Fort Carson, PGA REACH Colorado, the foundation of the Colorado Section of the PGA of America, hosted a funfilled day of golf! Four-person scramble teams were formed with three military personnel and one Colorado PGA Professional. Congratulations to Mark Bacheldor, PGA of UCCS PGA Golf Management, Rob Beyer, Brian Sheridan, and Brandon Medeiros on taking home first place in the tournament!

The fun didn’t just stay out on the course that afternoon, though! We were joined by local junior golfers and families of the players for an afternoon on the driving range, featuring Birdie-Ball balls and inflatable targets, corn-hole, and a bounce house!

Another thank you to our volunteers, John and Sandi Andrew and Judy Malone, who helped make this event possible, and our 25 Colorado PGA Professionals who played in the event, creating a welcoming and educational environment for the military personnel players!

PGA HOPE introduces golf to Veterans with disabilities to enhance their physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being. The program introduces the game of golf through a developmental 6-8 week curriculum, taught by PGA Professionals trained in adaptive golf and military competency. All programs are funded by PGA REACH and supplemented by the Colorado PGA, so the cost of programming is free to all Veterans!
