Keffer Runs Away with 2026 Colorado PGA West Chapter Championship

Snowmass Village, Colo. – Geoff Keffer, PGA Assistant Professional at Lakewood Country Club, put together two outstanding rounds of golf to capture the 2026 Colorado PGA West Chapter Championship at Snowmass Club, finishing the 36-hole championship at 14-under-par and cruising to an 11-shot victory.

Keffer entered Tuesday's final round with a commanding advantage after opening the championship with an 8-under-par 64. Rather than simply protecting the lead, Keffer continued to attack in the final round, carding a 6-under-par 66 to pull away from the field and complete a dominant two days in Snowmass Village.

Starting his final round on the par-4 first, Keffer opened with a par before immediately adding a birdie on the par-5 second. He followed with a par at the third and took advantage of another par-5 at number four, making birdie to move to 2-under for the day. Pars at five and six kept the momentum going before Keffer made another birdie on the par-4 seventh.

Keffer then took advantage of the closing two holes of his opening nine. He birdied the par-3 eighth and followed it with a birdie four on the par-5 ninth, giving him three consecutive birdies to finish the front nine and card a 4-under-par 33.

With a sizeable advantage heading to the back nine, Keffer never gave the field an opportunity to close the gap. He made consecutive pars on the first five holes of his back nine before adding his final two birdies of the Championship on holes 15 and 16.

Keffer closed with pars on 17 and 18 to come home in 2-under-par 33, completing a bogey-free final-round 66. Combined with his opening-round 64, Keffer finished at 14-under and was the only player in the field to reach double digits under par for the championship. Keffer, who has had one of his best seasons in 2026, said, “I don’t know if it’s the best golf of my life, but I’m not making as many mistakes as I did in the past.”

The battle behind Keffer was much tighter. Barrett Jones, PGA Associate at Sand Creek Golf Course, produced one of the biggest moves of the final round, rebounding from an opening 75 with a 6-under-par 66 on Tuesday. His 9-shot improvement moved him all the way into a tie for second at 3-under-par 141.

Joining Jones at 3-under was Ashley Tait-Wengert, PGA Instructor at Turkey Creek Golf, who put together two consistent rounds of 71 and 70. Tait-Wengert entered the final round at 1-under and moved two shots further into red figures Tuesday to share runner-up honors.

Micah Rudosky, the 2026 Colorado Senior PGA Professional Champion, finished alone in fourth at 2-under-par 142. Rudosky began the championship with a 3-under 69 before a final-round 73 left him one stroke behind Jones and Tait-Wengert. Rudosky did claim the Senior Division Title by two shots over Doug Rohrbaugh.

Four players shared fifth place at even-par 144. Chris Piedimonte, PGA Assistant Professional at Roaring Fork Club, improved with rounds of 73 and 71, while Kirk Trowbridge, PGA Instructor at MetaGolf Learning Center and Doug Rohrbaugh, PGA Head Golf Professional at Aspen Golf Club, each followed opening-round 69s with final-round 75s. Barry Milstead, PGA Director of Golf at Valley Country Club, rounded out the group after rounds of 68 and 76.

Caden Wolfson, Associate Professional at Roaring Fork Club, also made a strong final-round charge, following an opening 76 with a 3-under-par 69 to climb into ninth place at 1-over 145. Scott Ough, PGA Instructor at GOLFTEC - Boulder, rounded out the top 10 at 2-over 146 following rounds of 75 and 71.

Ultimately, however, the championship belonged to Keffer. His rounds of 64-66 gave him the remarkable 14-under total and an 11-stroke margin of victory.

Ferguson Goes Wire-to-Wire to Capture 2026 Colorado PGA Women’s Championship

Lafayette, Colo., Sept. 8-9, 2026 – Stefanie Ferguson, PGA, entered the final round of the 2026 Colorado PGA Women’s Championship with a 2-shot lead and did enough over the final 18 holes to hold off a strong charge from Emily Shimkus and capture the title. Ferguson followed an opening-round 3-under-par 69 with a final-round 2-over-par 74 to finish the 36-hole championship at 1-under-par, four strokes clear of Shimkus and the 2025 Women’s Champion, Tara Morris, PGA. Ferguson was the only player in the field to finish the 36-hole championship under par.

Keffer Defends Title and Captures the 69th Colorado PGA Professional Title

Westminster, Colo. – Geoff Keffer, PGA Assistant Professional at Lakewood Country Club, entered Wednesday's final round of the 69th Colorado PGA Professional Championship with a three-shot advantage and ultimately needed nearly every bit of it. After producing the round of the championship on Tuesday, Keffer followed his brilliant 8-under-par 64 with a hard-fought 1-over-par 73 in Wednesday's final round at Walnut Creek Golf Preserve. “I just did not want to beat myself,” Keffer stated about what his game plan was heading into the final round. His three-day total of 7-under-par 209 was enough to hold off a charging Tristin Goodwin, PGA Instructor at ExperienceGolf, by a single stroke and secure his second consecutive Colorado PGA Professional Championship and fifth Section Championship of his career.
