Geoff's Journey

For Geoff Keffer, PGA, golf is about people first and the game second. As an Assistant Golf Professional at Lakewood Country Club, he has built his career around creating meaningful connections and helping others find joy and confidence through golf. Known for his positivity, integrity, and care for people, Geoff defines success by the impact he makes on those around him—whether through instruction, mentorship, or simply sharing his love for the game.

Whether teaching, mentoring, or simply sharing a round, Geoff sees golf as more than a profession; it has become a platform for him to give back, connect, inspire, and grow the game.

What People Say About Geoff

"Geoff Keffer is one of those rare people who make everyone around him better. He's not only an incredibly talented golfer, but also a great human being. Over time, Geoff has become like a big brother to me-someone I can look up to, learn from, and always count on. I'm so proud of the success he's earned through his dedication and character... even though he wouldn't be nearly as successful without me on the bag keeping him in line. I'm truly grateful to call him my friend.”

~ Sam Marley, Club Fitting Specialist at Lenny's Golf & Ski Shop

"I have worked with Geoff for the last seven years and have improved in every aspect of the game. He always makes time for me and works with me until I feel like I understand the task at hand. I play a lot with him in tournaments and regular play. He is always supportive, and we have a lot of fun. He is a great coach and friend."

~ Frank Wilson, Geoff's Student

"The greatest responsibility I feel is to represent the game honorably and humbly. You can have fire and competitive drive while still carrying yourself with respect and integrity. The game reveals greatness on its own." ~Geoff

Geoff's Favorite Golf Tips to Get Ready for Competition

"My mindset is that if I play decent, I’ll have a chance to win. If I play well, I’ll win most of the time; if I play great, I’ll run away with it."

  1. Nerves are good. They let you know it means something to you. Most people get nervous and go negative, like "Oh no, please don’t let me screw this up," or they worry about what people watching will think. Instead, they need to use the nerves and turn into a show off, like watch this or I’m gonna make the crowd go wild.
  2. It’s just golf. The shot in front of you is the same whether it is for $1 to beat your buddy or $1 million dollars. Trust your practice and preparation.
  3. Have fun. The more fun you have, the better you play.
