Ryder Cup Junior Academy Applications Due February 17th, 2012

The 2012 Ryder Cup Junior Golf Academy is scheduled for the week of July 1-8 and is limited to a total of 96 juniors (48 boys and 48 girls) each year. Each Section has the opportunity to select one boy and one girl to attend and participate.  The Ryder Cup Junior Academy is a seven-day program conducted at the PGA Center for Golf Learning and Performance in Port St. Lucie, Fla. with an emphasis on shot making, scoring, swing mechanics, competitive course management, technology, equipment, fitness and physical assessments. A good deal of the program is based on the Ryder Cup and learning from its rich history

 

This is a tremendous opportunity for the Colorado PGA to send two deserving young

people to Florida to attend this elite golf academy. Please share this information with junior golfers and their parents. Some young golfer is sure to have the experience of a lifetime! 

Each candidate must meet the following criteria:

  • One (1) boy and one (1) girl from each of the 41 PGA Sections, ages 14-17
  • Academics (minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5)
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited high school within the Section boundaries in which the candidate applies
  • High desire to excel in competitive golf (participation in Section, Amateur, regional and/or high school competitive golf programs)
  • Character (involvement in activities such as but not limited to community service, student government and leadership associations)
